Huge Numbers in Greystones CNS for 3rd & 4th class Camogie Blitz

Body:

There was a brilliant buzz in Greystones Community National School last Thursday as over 120 girls from 3rd and 4th class took part in a camogie blitz. Teams from St. Laurence’s N.S, Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath, Kilcoole P.S, Greystones Educate Together, St Brigid’s N.S, St Fergal’s N.S and the hosts Greystones CNS all participated. The small sided games really brought out the best in the girls where they were able to get multiple touches and try out a range of different playing positions. It was great to hear at the end of the blitz how many were intending on joining up with their local camogie club!
Our Young Whistlers from various schools did a brilliant job with officiating the games. Credit must also go to all the teachers, SNAs and parents who volunteer to train and bring teams to events such as these throughout the year. Finally, a massive thanks has also to go to Greystones CNS who hosted the event on the day.
The abundance of young camogie players in the North Wicklow area is a testament to the huge potential that lies within the future.
