Allianz Sports Day - Meeting, Information and Registration; and AGM
As you know, we are combining the Sports Day meeting and the 2025/26 AGM this year in an effort to increase member participation at these events. Please see below some important points to note:
1. Charlesland in Greystones has confirmed they will be in a position to host Sports Day as planned.
2. Registration Fees 2025/26
The registration fee from 2025/26 onwards will rise to €100 for every school wishing to participate in any Cumann na mBunscol Wicklow activities. The costs associated with running an expanded programme of events have increased our running costs, along with increased referee fees, cost of trophies/medals, transport, venue hire etc. The fee of €100 is also more in line with other counties across the country.
We would ask all participating schools in Cumann na mBunscol Wicklow activities to pay the €100 registration fee for 2025/26 before September 5th 2025. This ensures all participating schools in Cumann na mBunscol Wicklow activities are fully paid members and helps the committee budget for the year ahead.

4. The agenda for the meeting along with Boys Hurling, Boys Football and PRO reports for this current year have been sent out to all schools. Other reports from officers will be given orally at the AGM including Treasurer’s report.
5. Sports Day Meeting reminder
This year’s Sports Day meeting and AGM will take place on Wednesday 28th May in the Parkview Hotel, Newtown at 6 p.m. It is imperative that any school participating in Sports Day 2025 is represented at this meeting.
The entry fee of €50 must be returned at (or prior to) this meeting
1. The meeting will deal with the organisation of the sports day.
2. School participants’ numbers will be handed out.
3. Jobs will be allocated to ALL schools.

*Due to the large number of schools taking part, for this to be a successful event and in the interest of fairness, it is essential that each participating school be represented and take responsibility for a job.
N.B. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED DUE TO THE RESTRICTED NUMBER OF LANES IN THE VENUE.

Sports Day Details
What: Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Sports Day
Where: Charlesland Sports and Recreation Park, Greystones
When: Wednesday 11th June at 10 a.m. sharp.
Points to Note
Video Recordings: Video recordings of races and events will not be accepted. The judges’ decision will be final.
Grievances: Any grievances that arise are to be directed to the school’s own sports day co-ordinator. As teachers, we are all volunteers on the day!
To ensure the continued success of Sports Day - schools should be mindful of their responsibilities towards:

providing an adequate number of helper/volunteers on the day (who are Garda Vetted - this is a must!!), those with a knowledge of athletics would be very welcome
·
taking charge of a job/role
·
ensuring the safety and supervision of your pupils throughout the day
·
tidying up litter, deck chairs, tents, etc. when the event is over
