Sports Day

Body:

This year’s Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Sports day took place in Charlesland Sport and Recreation Park, Greystones on Wednesday 6th June.  There was a good turnout of schools from all around Wicklow.

Although there were a couple of showers towards the end of the day the weather generally held up well and the rain didn’t dampen spirits.  Each child represented themselves and their school very well and there were some fine athletes on show.  Cumann na mBunscol would like to thank Billy Porter, Rathdrum and Teresa Kinane, Charlesland Sports for all their help.  Thanks also to Greystones Athletic Club for the use of their facilities.  Last but not least this event would not be possible without the help of all the volunteers from the various schools – thanks to anyone who helped out on the day - a really great day was had by all!
