Girls’ Allianz Football Blitz

Body:

The Allianz Girls' Football Blitz took place in sunny Roundwood on Wednesday last the 24th of April. There was a large turnout despite the busy time of year and the girls gave it their best efforts for the last competition of the year!

St.Patricks Bray finished their hugely successful year by capturing the group 1 title with St.Laurence's Roundwood in 2nd place! Laura Butler (St.Patricks) proved herself to be an excellent defender by claiming 'Imreoir den Scoth' for Group 1.
St.Joseph's Templerainey claimed the Group 2 title while St.Fergals Bray finished runners up. Well done to Nicole Keogh of St.Fergals who was awarded 'Imreoir den Scoth'.
Kilmacanogue and St.Kevin's Greystones fought a very hard battle in Group 3 with Kilmacanogue finally taking the honours! Erika Bellamy of Kilcoole picked up 'Imreoir den Scoth' in that group!
Well done to all in attendance with special thanks to Roundwood GAA club for the use of their facilities and to those who refereed for keeping the games clean and fair!
