INTO Skills Challenge Information

Body: 

Regional skills challenges will take place on Wednesday 2nd April.  The football skills include soloing with left/right foot, fist passing with left/right hand and the hook kick with left/right foot.  The hurling/camogie skills include soloing, ground striking on the run from alternate sides and jab lifting and striking on the run from the hand.

Each school is permitted to send 2 representatives per code to compete in 

  • Gaelic Football (boys)
  • Gaelic Football (girls)
  • Hurling
  • Camogie

Please note that there are age restrictions and if a pupil has already represented their county in Croke Park they may NOT do so for a second occasion so that another may.  The age restrictions are as follows

Teachers must bring completed registration forms as sent to their schools via email including the dates of birth.  As the tests will be conducted at the same time, pupils will only be able to perform in one of the codes.

 

The top 4 pupils in each code will be invited to compete in the County Primary Schools Skill Tests scheduled for Wednesday 9th April at 11.00 in Wicklow GAA Centre of Excellence, Ballinakill, Rathdrum Co Wicklow.

 

The top performing pupils in the County Skills tests will have the opportunity to represent their school and county during half-time in selected All Ireland Series games during the summer.

 

It is encouraged that each school host their own internal tests to aid selection of their representatives before forwarding them to the district skill tests.
