Bearna Chlé claim Allianz Camogie Blitz
On Wednesday the 21st of May, Bray Emmet’s played host to the annual Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Camogie Blitz. Glorious weather conditions ensured a fantastic day was had by all. Five teams took part in the blitz: Kilcoole Primary School, St. Patrick’s Bearna Chlé, Newtownmountkennedy Primary School, St. Brigid’s Greystones and Kilmacanogue Primary School. All games were closely contested and a high level of skill and sportsmanship was evident throughout the day. The blitz was run on a league basis - teams were awarded 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. A strong Bearna Chlé side topped the tables with a total of 8 points and a determined Kilcoole team came in second place. Each team could then award a Laoch na hImeartha award to the most talented player on their teams. A sincere word of thanks to Bray Emmets for the use of their facilities, the referees, the teachers and parents who accompanied the teams and to all the talented camogie players who participated. Well done girls its great to see a keen interest in camogie in the Garden County! Maith sibh!
