Crossbridge triumphs in the South Wicklow Allianz Coughlan Cup

Body:

The Allianz Coughlan Cup for South Wicklow schools was held in Aughrim Community Grounds and once again for the third year in a row  Crossbridge N.S. from Tinahely were the winners defeating a fancied Aughrim N.S. in the final after a super game of football on a scoreline of Crossbridge N.S  1-6  Aughrim N.S. 1-2. This  game could have gone either way because Aughrim N.S.  put in a terrific performance but only for the Crossbridge N.S goalkeeper making some brilliant saves at crucial times in the final. But overall Crossbridge N.S. were undefeated throughout the day and deserved to bring the cup back to this small school. The cup and gold medals were presented to captain Thomas Kealy after the game.  Thomas thanked all his fellow pupils and  club school link coach Martin Ging for looking after the team.   Aughrim N.S. received the silver medals.  There were also some fine football played by the boys from Barndarrig  N.S.  Arklow B.N.S. and  Bearna Chle N.S.Johnstown.Cumann na mBunscol Cill Mhantain would  like to thank Allianz for their sponsorship of this tournament.
