Indoor for 3rd and 4th Class Girls A Big Success!

Body:

The O'Kelly cup was held last Wednesday 28th January in Loughlinstown Sports Centre, it's a non competitive blitz for 3-4th class girls. Eleven schools took part and all the girls really enjoyed their day out, for many of the girls it would have been their first blitz! Well done to Kicoole P.S, Newtown, St.Laurence's, St.kevins and St,Brigids Greystones, Scoil Chualann, Gaelscoil Ui Cheadaigh,St.Patricks Bray and a special welcome to newcomers to girls football Gaelscoil Clocha Liatha,St.Peters Bray and St.Kevins Laragh! Thanks to Dave Barry and Garett Doyle who helped referee and keep things moving on the day!

A special mention must be given to the two excellent 6th class young whistlers who refereed a number of the games. Lucy Phibbs-Rooney and Amelia Wolk from Kilcoole Primary School took charge of proceedings and made sure the the games were fast, fair and fun! 'It was a brilliant experience but I had to make some tough decisions' said Lucy after the games! Well done to all who took part on the day and we're already looking forward to the Allianz League days which will take place later in the term!
