National Award for Kilcoole Primary School!

Body:

Kilcoole Primary School came in 3rd place in best games promotion section of  the Cornmarket Financial Services Awards for 2011.

The Cornmarket Awards Banquet took place in Croke Park on Friday last and a great night was had by all.  This is a huge honour as it is a countrywide competition and it portrays the work that is going on to promote gaelic games in our primary schools.  Cumann na mBunscol Cill Mhantáin had also entered the public relations category, publication of the year category and Annemarie McKenna had been nominated by Cumann na mBunscol, Cill Mhantáin for her outstanding contribution to Cumann na mBunscol activities in the Garden County.  Unfortunately we were not successful in those areas but the ability to enter so many areas of this competition is testament to all the hard work of teachers in our primary schools.

Representing Cumann na mBunscol, Cill Mhantáin and Kilcoole Primary School on the night were Jim O’Riordán, Annemarie McKenna, Dave Barry, Michéal Ó Murchú, Mary Grennan, Emer Fahy, Tara Walshe and Pamela McDermott.
