Concussion Symposium

The GAA's Medical, Scientific and Welfare Committee would like to invite the members of Cumann na mBunscol and all those involved in Primary Schools GAA to attend the upcoming Concussion Symposium which will take place in Croke Park on Saturday October 8th.  There is no admission charge, however please note spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  For the GAA's current Concussion Management Guidelines and further educational resources including the association's E-Learning course and dressing room poster please visit http://learning.gaa.ie/Concussion

Bon Secours Health System and UPMC, the leader in Concussion worldwide, have come together with the GAA to present Ireland’s first Concussion Symposium which will take place at Croke Park on October 8, 2016.  Leading Concussion experts from UPMC in the United States, Bon Secours Health System in Ireland and sporting figures from the GAA will join together for a ground breaking symposium which will share nationally for the first time the best practices, protocols and treatment of concussion today.

Dr. Pat O’ Neill, Former Gaelic Footballer all Ireland winning player and manager and Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine, Consultant, Mater Private and Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital

Aogán Ó Fearghaíl, Uachtarán Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, President of the Gaelic Athletic Association

Dr. Micky Collins, Executive Director- UPMC Sports Medicine Concussion Program
