3rd / 4th Class Indoor Boys’ Football Day 2 - Super Day Had By All!
Friday 2nd February saw the final day of indoor football action in North Wicklow. Teams from all over the North travelled to Shoreline Leisure Centre in Greystones to participate in the Allianz 3rd/4th Class Boys Indoor Football Blitz. Again with the number of participating teams the blitz was split into 2 sessions. Session 1 saw three teams from 3rd class in St. Laurences, Greystones pit their skill and wisdom against 2 teams from St. Peters Bray and a team from Moneystown NS. A thoroughly competitive affair saw the 6 teams enthusiastically show off their skills, teamwork and score taking.
A big 'Thank You' has to go to the coaches of all 3 schools but most importantly to the boys who competed in a very sporting manner.
Session 2 saw two teams fro Gaelscoil Uí Cheadaigh, Bray, 2 from St. Kevin's, Greystones and a team each from Scoil Chulann, Bray and Newtown. Once again, the boys of 3rd/4th in these schools demonstrated an extremely high level of skill. These end-to-end games allowed the boys to exhibit their shooting accuracy, one-two combinations and blocking skills, all of which are important for the indoor game. 'Mile buíochas' to the múinteoirí who helped facilitate the day and to the Young Whistlers from Scoil Chulann who officiated on the day.
Here's hoping we witness as much talent on the outdoor pitches next month.
