Allianz Boys’ Football League

Body:

The Allianz Boys’ Football League was a huge success across the county this year.  There was a fine turnout of skillful footballers from our primary schools.  This was an 11 a-side competition with unlimited substitutions.  The games played were free flowing and fast.

In Bray Emmets in Division 1 there were teams from St. Cronans, St. Peters, St. Kevin’s, Scoil Chulann and St. Pat’s with St. Cronans emerging as victorious.  In Division 2, also in Bray Emmets, were Newtownmountkennedy, St. Fergal’s, St. Laurences and Kilcoole. Newtownmountkennedy came out on top in this division.  Division 3 was held in Roundwood and the schools taking part were Roundwood, Rathdrum, St. Brigid’s and Curtlestown.  In Division 4, also in Roundwood, the teams taking part were Moneystown, Kilmacanogue, Gaelscoil Cill Mhantáin and St. Andrews.  Moneystown emerged victorious in Division 4.

The boys got lots of playing time and really enjoyed the matches.  Thanks to Bray Emmets for their fine facilities, to the referees and especially to Garrett Doyle for all his hard work and input into two such successful days.
