Craic agus Ceisteanna ag Allianz Tráth na gCeist

Body:

Bhí an gabhar a rosta i Lynhams oíche Déardaoin seo caite. Bhí craic agus ceisteanna againn ar an oíche. Over one hundred and twenty pupils from all over the county made the trip to Laragh for the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol, Tráth na gCeist for the first time since 2018.  Billy Cuddihy did a fine job as quiz master on the night keeping proceedings going as well as fitting in time to raffle prizes off in between.

Lynham's did brilliantly to accommodate us, as we were under pressure for space on the night, welcoming the pupils, teachers and parents to the best attended quiz in recent years. Thirty teams competed across eight rounds, racking their brains to dredge up past players, managers and generally obscure knowledge.

In the end, Rathcoyle NS 1 came out on top, with a whopping 71 out of 80. Roundwood NS 3 came in second place with a very good score of 62. Third place was decided by a tie break question, as both Greystones Community NS and Scoil Chualann 3 were tied on 58 points, and it was the Greystones school who pipped it.

A huge thanks must go to the schools who donated ever so generously to our raffle, with a huge haul of GAA equipment, and the odd selection box being brought home by many young pupils. The teachers present on the night were flat out handing out the prizes, on top of collecting, correcting and updating the scores. Tá buíochas ar leith ag dul dóibh as a gcúnamh.

Finally, thanks to all the parents who brought the young stars to Laragh, on a dark and uninviting November evening. Go raibh maith agaibh as bhur dtacaíocht leanúnach.
